MCDO
Has well defined Organization goals that are Simple and achievable. The implementation strategies set forth in it is plan of operations are designed to suit the current situation of the region. It also observes the necessity to utilize community participation through the reactivation socio economic mechanism to the vulnerable community and introduce them ownership feeling(s).
Maandeq Community Development Organization (MCDO) is a nongovernmental and nonprofit organization and it was established in 21 Feb. 1994. The organization has worked to improve the situation for people in Somalia specially the vulnerable people those need help, MCDO is established by a group of Maandeq community with intention to enhance the restore of the regional agriculture infrastructure as regards to the fateful consequences of the Somalia tragedy, MCDO focuses on all aspects of social and economic revitalization to promote the welfare of the south and central specially Lower Shabeelle vulnerable groups, indigenous and ethnic communities affected by natural and manmade calamities.
It is privileged to mention that MCDO executed a number of activities aimed at the rebuilding, advocating and creating income opportunity source to the Maandeq vulnerable group especially women Our performance in regard to projects implementation, accountability and reporting stems has been appraised and evaluation remarks were produced accordingly in view of the outcome of these assessments. In addition to that MCDO have succeeded to establish functional cooperation within the region context.
After functioning of three years, the some of the members was left form the country for security reason and again the organization restarted in 2011 up to now during this period the organization done many projects.

To develop the society in south and central Somalia in terms of livelihood, Education, Nutrition, Health, WASH and capacity building - To prevent diseases, promote peace, health socio-economic development and status of vulnerable and disadvantaged women, children, youths and men in community setting adopting behavioral change communication (BCC) strategy and PHC services. Livelihood
The main goal of livelihood security program is to improve the livelihood security of victims of war and vulnerable communities of Somalia.
Education
During wars, schools were looted and playground used as IDP or graveyard. The vast majority of primary school teachers today have never received adequate training. Moreover, the communities have limited capacity to meet even the most basic teachers, salaries.
WASH
The construction and rehabilitation of hand dug wells is challenging factor in the provision of safe water. Identifying less expensive and more sustainable to the provision of safe drinking water.
Capacity building
It is imperative for the communities to take responsibility for the provision of basic education and ownership for their schools. Education is a factor of unity and integration in Somalia, overcoming social and economic differences and leading to more peaceful society.
Health
The diseases are affecting more the children under 5 years who are malnourished and have no ability to defend the diseases. In addition to that, lactating mothers who are malnourished were susceptible to epidemic diseases. Elderly people were also the same. Also there is a gap in the medical sources in Somalia. There is shortage of medical services and medical sources. Few International and LNGO are present in Somalia
Shelter / Resettlements of the IDPs
MCDO is protecting and helping to access and informed response critical for the survival of IDPs. In Somalia the community should get an emergency home / shelter and best public health , must provide the basis for humanitarian action. Parties to the conflict must be integrated in these processes IDPs building concrete block houses, new IDPs receive emergency shelters such as tents.
